Taught me the importance of shopping on sale and eating the best I could afford
Pushed me into doing things (e. g., cooking) no matter how I whined — because she knew I could..
Taught me the importance of believing and trusting in God — even and especially when religion doesn’t make sense.
That was my mother, Shirley Maria Hughes (nee Jeffrey).
Her sunrise date was June 28, 1935.
April 7, 2013 marked the 10th anniversary of her sunset.
